Tara / A Maternity Session

I rarely get the pleasure of photographing a maternity session, probably because if I had more I would probably catch that baby fever.  But none-the-less, pregnancy is a beautiful thing to be treasured in such a way that is personal to the mama carrying the little life.

And for this mama, that is exactly what I tried to do.  Simple, yet so gorgeous, this background allowed this mama and military wife to just be one with her little boy!  Which made, to me, some beautiful images.

Jaclyn & BJ / The Engagment

When it came down to what they wanted from their engagement session, these two were undecided until the very last minute when they finally decided to be true to themselves and just have a simple session.

He wore a shirt and skinny jeans, while she made a change from skirt to matching skinny jeans.  I guess these two really are meant for each other.

Typically, I would start this post off by sharing a bit of their love story, but if you knew these two and you knew me, you'd know that I'm safer not trying to write it out in my understanding, because their story is quite unique, quite personal, and well, being as their from two different countries there are a few different sides to their love story ;)

I decided to do this post in black and white.  Because for these two, the classic feel really expresses who these two are.  Madly in love, these two are set to have an Australian wedding (means I'll be Australia bound)!  I'm excited for what's in store for them!  SO EXCITED!

And I decided to save one of my favorites in color.

Jaclyn & BJ / The Proposal

The day after my now soon to be brother in law arrived from Australia to here to be with his lady love [my sister], Jon and I found ourselves frantically sneaking around to collect the items BJ requested for his proposal the very next day.

I knew my sister didn't see it coming, as I so cunningly set up emotional cry fests and well thought through situations that proved my acting something superb.  She had no idea.

Come Saturday, Jon and I "headed out for a photo shoot".  Around the time assigned, I called Jacky frantically asking her to stop over to where my shoot was because I forgot an important lens.  She was so frustrated and stressed.  I interrupted and hurried her "getting ready for date day" process as she had to rush over, bring BJ along, to The 66ers Stadium in San Bernardino where my supposed shoot was.

There arrival and his surprised proposal went a little something like this...

A huge THANK YOU to The 66ers Stadium for allowing access to their facilities as well as surprising the couple with a custom Congrats message!
